God, this phone
Pulling my leg to chew the bone;
Entice me to
Get one more plate of Chinese food.
Heaven is closin’ fast on my fate.
Maybe you call before it’s too late.
Well, do you ever wonder?
Do you ever wonder?
It’s gonna take some time and space, honey.
So when you go leave me alone.
It’s gonna getcha high and low from me.
So when you go leave me alone.
I’m hungry,
Getting so sick of cold turkey.
I’m so alone.
All of your words like sticks and stones.
I must confess
Life without you is such a mess.
I hope it shows
‘Cause honey there’s just one thing I know:
Heaven is closin’ fast on my fate.
Maybe you call before it’s too late.
Well, do you ever wonder?
Do you ever wonder?
It’s gonna take some time and space, honey.
So, when you go leave me alone.
It’s gonna getcha high and low from me.
So, when you go leave me alone.
it's such a beautiful album of grieving and loss and acceptance. it speaks to a particular kind of grief -- not a grieving of one who is lost, but the grieving for one who is still present and still causing pain. i love the last song most because while it could end in pain, or end with the narrators decision to permanently push this person out of their life and that would be justified, it doesn't. instead, it offers something. what is offered? acceptance. hope. and a chance for redemption janmisha
